Mrs. Kayla Riley

Hello everyone and welcome to St. John's Lutheran School. My name is Kayla Riley and this will be my second year teaching the preschool High Five Class also known as the Tigers Class. I was born and raised right here in Hannibal. My husband and I have been together for 16 years, married for 11 and have two absolutely wonderful children who also attend St. John's. Our daughter is in the 4th grade and our son will be in Mrs. Adcock's Kindergarten class.

 

Growing up I had always dreamed of doing two things, becoming a nurse and a teacher. There is no rule saying you can only do one thing in life, so why not accomplish both. I graduated from Hannibal-LaGrange University in 2014 from the LPN Program. I have worked as a nurse for six years, and absolutely love taking care of my patients. However, God knew in my heart that my true passion was with children and teaching. I am currently attending Grand Canyon University Online for my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. Because of God and the wonderful staff at St. John's, I was given a great opportunity to substitute teach during the 2019-2020 school year. Then was offered an amazing job as the Preschool Teacher for their High Five Class this last school year. I found my calling and my home right here at St. John's.
